Story

Welcome to Ferne Valley Farm! The first question folks usually ask us is, "where is Ferne Valley?" And our answer is, "well, it's a place we made up!" Our farm is located just southwest of Blair, Nebraska at the crossing of two gravel roads where hills of farmland rise in every direction (hence, the Valley). My maternal grandmother was named Ferne, and we wanted to lovingly remember her by dubbing this place "Ferne Valley Farm."

This little spot of paradise is new to our family, as we purchased the acreage in 2022 and arrived in early 2023, at the end of our long military careers. Shortly before I retired from the Air National Guard, Bryan retired from active duty Air Force, which allowed us to choose our residence for the first time in many years. Because I grew up in Nebraska and we had a desire to raise our two girls near family, we landed here. We are grateful to be new members of the Blair community, and happy to be a short drive from the Omaha metro and other areas.
